Ayat Hamide
Architectural Designer
About me
My name is Ayat Hamide, and I’m an architectural designer driven by curiosity, critical inquiry, and the pursuit of meaningful, transformative design. I recently earned my Master of Architecture from Pratt Institute, building on dual degrees in Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering.
Architecture, to me, is more than a discipline—it’s a way of seeing, questioning, and reshaping the world. My engineering background provides a rigorous foundation rooted in precision and systems thinking, while my design practice expands that foundation into realms of theory, speculation, and the social dynamics of space. I believe architecture is never neutral—it holds the power to shape communities, challenge conventions, and imagine new futures.
My work sits at the intersection of technology, urbanism, and human experience, asking how we live, move, and connect in a constantly shifting world. Whether through built interventions, speculative design, or digital experimentation, I approach architecture as a conversation—between form and fluidity, stillness and motion, the individual and the collective.

Project
This collection showcases projects I have developed at the School of Architecture at Pratt Institute, reflecting a synthesis of studio design, various mediums, and fabrication techniques, alongside select photographic explorations. Each project is a communication of ideas—bridging concept and construction, theory and materiality. Guided by licensed architects and engineering consultants, these works highlight my skills, interests, and evolving design approach, demonstrating a balance between technical precision and creative exploration. Through these projects, I have engaged with spatial storytelling, adaptive reuse, urban dynamics, and emerging technologies, shaping my perspective as a designer.
